Settle into the story
Fullscreen playback, audio track selection, and subtitles. Macfin keeps your display awake while you watch.
Quality that adapts
Direct playback where possible, with Jellyfin transcoding when needed. Choose a bitrate yourself or let Auto adjust to your connection.
Your music, too
Browse artists, albums, and songs. Play an album in order or shuffle it, with album artwork, a track queue, and automatic next-song playback. Keep browsing while music plays in the compact player, with playback, seeking, and volume controls.
See your music move
Choose from six scenes: Neon Highway, Phosphor Waves, Aurora Flow, Orbital, Star Skirmish, and Pop Idols. Visuals respond to bass, treble, and drum hits, with fullscreen viewing and an adjustable timing pulse to fine-tune the feel.
Listen beyond your Mac
Send playback to an AirPlay speaker or TV using the native route picker. Keep browsing with the compact player, and return to local playback when you want.
Choose where requests go
Discover movies and shows through Jellyseerr or Seerr. Choose a destination server and tags for your requests, including the tags used by your streaming setup, or keep the destination’s defaults. Supports standard, non-4K requests.
A few clicks to your next movie or album
Bring your own library.
You'll need a running Jellyfin server and an account on it. Macfin is an independent client; no movies, shows, music, or server subscription are included.
- Install Macfin. Open the DMG and drag Macfin into Applications.
- Connect your server. Enter its address and sign in with your Jellyfin account.
- Pick something good. Browse your library and press play.
An early release for Apple silicon Macs. Intel Macs aren't supported in this build.
Music-reactive visuals require macOS 14.2 or later and audio-capture permission. Only Macfin’s own audio is analysed, on your Mac, without microphone access. AirPlay uses ambient visuals.
