Profile

I’m a founder and hands-on technical consultant building AI products and enterprise design systems. Since founding my first web business in 2010, I’ve delivered work across healthcare, telecommunications, financial services, retail and industrial technology.

My work spans an LLM gateway adopted across Pfizer, AI leadership at Big Medium alongside Josh Clark and Brad Frost, and design systems for global brands. Today, I’m growing Spektral and Really Focus alongside ongoing consultancy for Pfizer.

Products & Ventures

Spektral

Founder · spektral.design2023 – Present

Building an AI platform for creating and maintaining enterprise design systems, bringing component specifications, code, design tokens, documentation and review into one workflow. Development began in 2023 through work with Big Medium and Nasdaq.

Leading product development and the progression from public beta towards general release. Attracted approximately 90 beta sign-ups, primarily from organisations, with active use at Pfizer and use by design systems industry leaders.

Really Focus

Founded and built an AI assistant for independent consultants, bringing together client commitments, briefings and billing administration to help manage the day-to-day work of a consulting practice.

Consulting & Professional Experience

Pfizer

Technical Leadership, AI & Design Systems2021 – Present

Continuous engagement since 2021, progressing from technical leadership of Helix into an 18-month senior management role, then returning to independent consultancy while continuing to work with Pfizer.

  • Led around 15 developers alongside QA engineers and scrum masters delivering the Helix design system.
  • Independently designed and built an LLM gateway subsequently adopted across Pfizer and handed over to a dedicated team.
  • Built the foundations of Signal, an AI chief-of-staff desktop application, including its desktop architecture and local AI implementation.
  • Currently providing design systems consultancy during a major organisational restructuring, alongside introducing Spektral into use at Pfizer.

Big Medium

AI Lead2021 – 2024

Worked alongside Josh Clark and Brad Frost, leading AI work and building enterprise design systems for Caterpillar, Nasdaq, Cigna, Ulta Beauty, Principal and other clients. Work with Nasdaq provided the starting point for Spektral’s development.

Architected and implemented a JAMStack platform for Pfizer’s healthcare professional websites, deployed across hundreds of sites. Provided hands-on development and technical direction before progressing to leadership of Helix.

Established an independent consultancy delivering web solutions for enterprise clients. Early engagements included:

  • TalkTalk Plc: Built its Help and Support website in Drupal.
  • eMedFusion / Ashfield Healthcare: Delivered web solutions for a broad range of pharmaceutical companies on a contract basis.
